JANUARY 16, 2026 — FRIDAY AM
The ES, NQ, and YM are trading within narrow ranges ahead of the RTH open, with the YM trading just 25% of ADR. These ranges have developed within 2 to 3-week compressions, which are building energy for expansion soon, perhaps next week. BTC and ETH remain at the upper-end of their respective ranges, but can they lead higher, or will this move fail? Gold may see another multi-day breakout rally ahead. The current 3-4 day compression suggests an upside break soon. Overall, these markets have build tremendous energy over the last several weeks, and major expansion could be seen soon, especially when names like NVDA begin to also see expansion.
